"Sanatorium Under the Hourglass," a musical project by Grażyna Auguścik & Bester Quartet, offers a mesmerizing interpretation of Bruno Schulz’s literary universe. The arrangements of the “Zorn” themes are part of a cycle dedicated to Schulz's memory, beautifully capturing the essence of his mysterious, sensual world. The music creates sound visions that lie between dreams and reality, perfectly complementing the unique prose of the great creator from Drohobych.

The performance immerses the audience in a magical journey, evoking the fascinating and ever-surprising world of Schulz’s work, particularly his novel Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass. The Bester Quartet, a reformed version of the legendary The Cracow Klezmer Band, was founded in 1997 in Krakow by composer and accordionist Jarosław Bester. The quartet’s unique style brings a fresh, contemporary approach to traditional sounds, combining them with literary and artistic depth, making this performance an unforgettable tribute to Schulz’s legacy.

This exceptional musical interpretation is a captivating experience, blending the boundaries of jazz, klezmer, and classical influences, while paying homage to one of Poland’s most celebrated authors.
