MultiCulture Britain is the latest initiative of the British Council and Multikino, a project presenting interesting arts and culture happenings from the UK, to include film, theatre, visual arts and music.

Starting 2019, audiences around Poland will get a unique chance to see encore screenings of acclaimed theatre productions, such as Hamlet, starring Benedict Cumberbatch or The Audience with Hellen Mirren, as well as state-of-the-art UK-produced showings, including a live concert of Take That or Van Gogh and Japan exhibition directed by Phil Grabsky.

The main premise of the project is to promote tolerance, diversity and equal rights. It stems from a belief that societies benefit from a blend of different cultures that enrich them with new values and creative ideas. MultiCulture Britain is a new season of the strategic partnership between the British Council and Multikino, whereby the acclaimed UK theatre productions were presented in the cinemas across Poland in the past few years. The offer for 2019 has been extended to include exhibitions and concerts as well. There is also an important strand addressed at schools – special screenings for secondary students are an invitation to confront oneself with contemporary take on popular arts and culture classics and to discuss universal values and challenges facing today’s world.
