A partnership with the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute which supports dialogue and professional exchange between disabled artists from across Poland.
A key finding from the 2019 Conference Arts and Disability: Crossing the borders was that Poland has a number of very innovative and experienced disabled artists, but that these artists rarely have opportunities to work or talk with each other, either because they feel they are competing for the same opportunities or because of practical challenges and access barriers.
In response, the British Council and the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute have launched Disabled Artists’ Network Meetings. We have selected 20 disabled artist participants from around Poland and host these artists for moderated discussion for one day every three months. The aim is to exchange artistic ideas, professional information and advice, and also to discuss future projects and initiatives.
The schedule for these meetings is:
24 February 2020
9 June 2020
5 October 2020
We provide travel costs, access costs for participants, and the costs of hosting the network. Meetings will be translated simultaneously into Polish, English and Polish sign language.
Full information (in Polish) about the Disabled Artists’ Network Meetings can be found on the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute website. Information can also be found on Facebook via British Council Poland or Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute.
