For technical reasons special arrangements for Cambridge Qualifications computer-based exams are not on offer.

Disabled candidates

If you require special arrangements (e.g. you are a candidate with hearing or visual difficulties), please report this fact to the British Council when registering on-line (if you are individual candidate) or through a school/institution registering you in a group of candidates.

We will ask you to deliver the following supporting documentations to the British Council exam centre (where you will be sitting an exam) by the registration deadline:

No documents regarding special arrangements will be taken into consideration after the close of registration.

Candidates with dyslexia, dysgraphia or dysorthographia

If you’d like to apply for extra time for the written parts of the examination because of dyslexia, dysgraphia or dysorthographia please report this fact when registering on-line (if you are individual candidate) or through a school/institution registering you in a group of candidates.

We will ask you to deliver the following supporting documentations to the British Council exam centre (where you will be sitting an exam) by the registration deadline:

  • a medical report provided by a fully qualified educational, clinical or chartered psychologist, stating details of the degree of dyslexia, dysgraphia or dysorthographia and issued not earlier than two years before the exam date
  • application for special arrangements.

No documents regarding special arrangements will be taken into consideration after the close of registration. 

What sort of help can I get?

Below you will find some examples of arrangements that we can deliver to meet your special needs.

If you have a visual impairment, we can provide:

  • enlarged question papers
  • Braille question papers

If you have hearing difficulties, we can offer:

  • headphones
  • special needs CD for the Listening test
  • a lip-reading version of the Listening test.

If you have dyslexia, we can arrange:

  • a computer
  • special needs CD for the Listening test
  • extra time for the Reading and Writing tests.
