Shakespeare’s Globe on Screen is a series of William Shakespeare’s works, performed and registered at The Globe theatre in London. Reconstructed according to the original project, the venue has no roof, with actors performing outdoors and most of the audience standing. Performances reflect the atmosphere of the London theatre in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, including costumes and decorations. The only exception to the rule is that female characters are played by women, not men.
The Tempest, one of the last plays by William Shakespeare, is set on a remote island, where Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, plots against his brother Antonio to restore his daughter Miranda to her rightful place using illusion and skilful manipulation.
