British Council and Multikino present the encore screening of Royal Shakespeare Company’s Antony & Cleopatra directed by Iqbal Khan.
Antony & Cleopatra written around 1606 is one of Shakespeare’s great historical love stories. Antony is captivated by Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt. Gossip and scandal leads to plots of murder and battles.
Following Caesar’s assassination, Mark Antony has reached the heights of power. Now he has neglected his empire for a life of decadent seduction with his mistress, Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt. Torn between love and duty, Antony’s military brilliance deserts him, and his passion leads the lovers to their tragic end.
The screenings will take place on 6 July 2017 at 19.00 in the following Multikino cinemas: Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Katowice, Kraków, Lublin, Łódź (Silver Screen), Olsztyn, Poznań Stary Browar, Szczecin, Warszawa Targówek, Warszawa Ursynów, Warszawa Złote Tarasy, Wrocław Arkady and Zabrze.
