Celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with us and join an online event hosted by the Europe Beyond Access project. Reclaiming the stage: Disability and radical aesthetics is an online discussion at which we will be exploring the intersection of disability arts and the avantgarde, as well as looking at ways that disabled artists redefine the stage as we know it and question the well-established norms. The discussion panel will provide diverse perspectives on the subject – artistic, journalistic, critical and curatorial.
The debate will be moderated by Grzegorz Reske from East European Performing Arts Platform and the Performing Arts Institute. The panel will include: Tatiana Cholewa, (dancer and choreographer), Anna Królica (journalist and dance curator) and Filip Pawlak (theatre producer, Europe Beyond Access ambassador in Poland and co-author of the Disabled Artists in the Mainstream report).
The event will be broadcast on Europe Beyond Access and British Council Polska Facebook pages. The conversation will be in Polish with Polish subtitles and translation into Polish Sign Language.
Europe Beyond Access in Poland is delivered by British Council Polska, Instytut Muzyki i Tańca and Instytut Teatralny im. Zbigniewa Raszewskiego.
Europe Beyond Access is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission.
