Poems in the City
On 3 April, over 100 thousand poems will pop up in Warsaw. Poetry will populate the city space, including cafes, commercial spaces, clubs and independent bookstores. The new, innovative edition of the „Poems in the City” project will promote access to poetry on a scale not known before.
With the number of promotional media tripled and new European countries joining the project, this year’s edition will have a significantly wider reach than before. Inhabitants of Warsaw will have a chance to read poems by 18 European poets, with FREEDOM being the concept in focus. The poems stand for a diversity of traditions, cultures and views represented by poets from different parts of our continent.
The event is organised by the European Union National Institutes of Culture (EUNIC) in cooperation with the City of Warsaw.
