19 poets from around Europe speak with one voice. “Poems in the City” is a project which offers a unique perspective on the topics of ecology and climate change, with artists speaking out at least as loud as climate activists.
The fourth edition of this international project, co-organised by EUNIC Warsaw and the City of Warsaw, is extraordinary in that it takes place with global pandemic in the background.
The artistic voice of poets from 19 European countries will cross both physical and virtual boarders to reach audiences all around Poland. Poetry will be widely heard on air and across online channels, including popular social media sites.
All activities will start on 15 April and last for a month. Available to read and listen to, poems will come from authors representing Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Flanders, Spain, Ireland, Luxembourg, Republic of Malta, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine, Great Britain and Italy.
UK will be represented by Imtiaz Dharker with her poem entitled “Bloom”.
