Join Metal and National Institute of Music and Dance from Warsaw for an exclusive premiere of the film Pióra  – on Sunday 25th September where we will be hosting an online film screening and panel discussion with the artists involved.

Metal in partnership with National Institute of Music and Dance, Warsaw, have been part of an international collaborative project. The inclusive creative team are: UK choreographer Kate Marsh, Director Jay Gearing, Poland-based artists Dominika Feiglewicz and Patrycja Jarosinska and camera man Pawel Penarski. Who have created a new dance work for camera.

Following a two-week choreographic residency at Metal in Peterborough UK, and a week-long residency in Poland, we are delighted to present this dance film inspired by the unique collaboration between two Polish dancers. The piece concentrates on love letters to themselves and their bodies, explores female pressures, disability and expectations whilst coming together through friendship solidarity, and nature.

The collaborative process brings together artists and organisations who advocate for inclusivity across all their work. This process has been an opportunity for all those involved to share thinking and knowledge of their lived experiences across different cultural and geographic contexts.

The residency is part of the project "International and intersectional dance for camera" co-organized by Narodowy Instytut Muzyki i Tańca and METAL. This project is funded by the British Council.
