The British Council and Multikino present the encore screening of The Threepenny Opera from London’s National Theatre. The play by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill in collaboration with Elisabeth Hauptmann, has been adapted in a new bold and anarchic version by Simon Stephens.

Darkly comic raucous musical by Brecht and Weill comes back on stage in a new interpretation. A landmark of twentieth-century musical theatre has been vividly arranged by award-winning playwright Simon Stephens. The creative production was strengthened by artistic director Rufus Norris, who directed the play in his theatre. In the lead role the viewers will see Olivier Award-winner Rory Kinnear (Hamlet, James Bond).

London scrubs up for the coronation. The thieves are on the make, the whores on the pull, the police cutting deals to keep it all out of sight. Mr and Mrs Peachum are looking forward to a bumper day in the beggary business, but their daughter didn’t come home last night and it’s all about to kick off… Mack the Knife is back in town.

Contains scenes of a sexual nature, violence and filthy language. For viewers aged 15 and over.
