As part of the MultiCulture Britain project, Multikino and British Council present an encore screening of NT Live’s The Lehman Trilogy, directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road, Skyfall, Spectre).

The story of a family and a company that changed the world, told in three parts on a single evening. On a cold September morning in 1844 a young man from Bavaria stands on a New York dockside. Dreaming of a new life in the new world. He is joined by his two brothers and an American epic begins. 163 years later, the firm they establish – Lehman Brothers – spectacularly collapses into bankruptcy, and triggers the largest financial crisis in history.

Sam Mendes directs Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley and Ben Miles who play the Lehman Brothers, their sons and grandsons.

The screening will take place on 4 November at 19.00 in the following Multikino cinemas: Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Lublin, Łódź, Poznań Stary Browar, Szczecin, Warszawa Młociny, Warszawa Targówek, Warszawa Ursynów, Warszawa Złote Tarasy, Wrocław Pasaż Grunwaldzki and Zabrze.

The play, recorded with the public’s presence, will be screened in DCP digital standard, High Definition, Digital Dolby Surround. Screenings are in English with Polish subtitles.
