The Lodz Ballet Festival is the only dance festival in Poland of such a long-standing tradition and important artistic rank. Since its first edition in 1968, the stage of the Lodz Grand Theatre has hosted all the most prominent dance companies in the world, and the festival itself – thanks to an appropriate choice of repertoire – has become an exceptional forum of a confrontation between all that in the art of ballet and the dance theatre is most worth-while, current and worth of note.
As part of the 24th Lodz Ballet Festival there will be preformances of three UK based dance companies:
- English National Ballet (for the 1st time in Poland) with: BALLET BOLD and LE CORSAIRE
- Akram Khan Company
- Acosta Danza (Cuban company in cooperation with Sadler’s Wells)
