We invite you to join us in celebrating the International Translator's Day online this year. EUNIC Warsaw (European Union National Institutes for Culture) has partnered with the Polish Literary Translators Association, Gdansk-based City Culture Institute and European Commission Representation Office in Poland to put together an online exhibition which is accessible at dzientlumacza.pl from 30 September. The exhibition is entitled Translators. Portraits and will feature 30 translators who will present their favourite books they have translated.
The group taking part in the project will encompass translators nominated to The European Poet of Freedom Literary Award 2020, including Magda Heydel, translator from English and this year’s laureate, who will discuss the winning volume On Balance by an Irish poet, Sinéad Morrissey.
The exhibition will feature most of the European languages and literary genres: poetry, prose, drama and even comic.
British Council is co-organiser of the project as part of its involvement in EUNIC Warsaw.
