Ian McKellen - an actor who can do anything - returns to the role of Hamlet after many years.

Ghosts appear at the Royal Theater in Windsor, which has been deserted during the pandemic, including the ghost of Hamlet's father, to remind the world in chaos and his son about the indestructible power of revenge and theater... This crazy idea to cast an 85-year-old as the young Danish prince allows us to look at Shakespeare's most famous play from a completely different perspective. The decision of the producers of the latest "Hamlet" (directed by Sean Mathias) to turn various spaces of the Theater Royal Windsor into Elsinore - the stage, backstage, dressing rooms, auditorium, theater corridors - proves respect for the belief of the greatest playwright of all time that the world is only a theater.

This is "Hamlet" as never before: suspenseful, unusual, original, but also faithful to Shakespeare and his views on theater and the human condition in the face of personal tragedy. Ian Mckellen is a theater magician and Shakespeare specialist. In addition to Hamlet, he played the characters of Romeo, Macbeth, Coriolanus and King Lear. He is known to the world audience for his great film productions (Gandalf in "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" or Magneto in the "X-Men" series). For his achievements, not only as an actor, he won the admiration of the audience and the most important awards (Tony, Golden Globe, Laurence Olivier Award six times).

The retransmission of the performance includes additional materials, including an unpublished interview with Ian McKellen.
