GREEN JAZDÓW is a unique and lively summer project from the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle. The theme of the lectures and meetings will be economy and its relationship with ecology. As every year, Green Jazdów will offer numerous activities, including arts and crafts, culinary workshops, film screenings, concerts, as well as a marketplace filled with fresh and ecological produce. Through special workshops, lectures, discussions and debates, the organizers want dig deeper into issues concerning ecological economics and business models that differ from the dominant ones. The program will examine issues such as social and ecological economy, alternative currencies, grassroots economics, economic utopias, and anti-consumerism. The British Council is a partner of the ‘Holiday Economics’ series of lectures with international specialists.

Prof. Merry Mellor is a Professor at Northumbria University, and, she has a Emeritus Professor (Social Science) at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne and a chair of its Sustainable Cities Research Institute with a longstanding interest in alternative, green and feminist economics. She is an author of works on money, finances, cooperation, sustainable cities, ecofeminism economy and social economy.
