On the 4th of July the opening lecture titled: ‘Time – the most important, non-renewable resource’ will be given by James Wallaman from the UK, well-known futurist, the author of bestsellers on experience economy: ‘Stuffocation” and “Time And How To Spend It”.

This year’s edition of the festival will be an opportunity for a call to action and releasing creativity. Nowadays we need wise, functional and permanent solutions, which will allow us to confront the climate crisis, loosing biodiversity, demographic, social and cultural changes and clever use of new technologies.

Gdynia Design Days 2020 aims to prove that good design can become a useful tool for solving complex problems. Festival will present proposals, which will encourage companies to be more responsible for the common good and will equip consumers with knowledge, thanks to which they will be more responsible towards the environment. It will look at the phenomenon of the overconsumption. It will also examine the issue of water in our culture and will look into the best ways of using this scarce resource. Gdynia Design Days 2020 will present data as a new valuable currency as well as it will point out the dangers related to lack of ethics in the digital world.

In this year’s festival programme there will be 25 lectures, 20 workshops, 8 exhibitions presented as interactive guide Gdynia Design Days and 7 films.
