Diverse forms: three recitals with piano accompaniment, three recitals accompanied by orchestra, two operas in concert and two new productions prepared especially for the Krakow audience, in total 14 concerts – this is how Opera Rara 2018 programme presents itself in a nutshell. Between 18 January and 13 February Opera Rara will take over Krakow’s scenes and music aficionados’ hearts!
British content will include: a recital with piano accompaniment by baritone Christopher Maltman, staging of The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Michael Nyman (best known for his film scores to The Piano), or Venus and Adonis – the first English opera, performed at the festival by Dunedin Consort conducted by John Butt, an acclaimed Scottish conductor.
