Design (r)evolution is an international conference organised by Design Critique Platform as part of the Graphic Knowledge Fair 2013, with support from the British Council. The event will be dedicated to a new definition of design and new areas covered by designers' activities. Specialists invited to the conference will look into the issue of contemporary design no longer being synonymous solely with designing objects and arranging lettering, but being increasingly involved in fields such as acquiring and spreading knowledge, building tools and systems for interpersonal communication, moderating and planning social interactions, commenting on reality and solving problems. Among renowned international speakers there will be:
Deyan Sudjic, director of Design Museum in London
Charlotte Cheetham, author of the Manystuff blog
Peter Biľak, editor-in-chief of Works That Work magazine
Dennis Elbers, founder of the Graphic Design Festival Breda
Gerry Leonidas, professor from the University of Reading
John O’Reilly, editor of Varoom magazine
The conference will take place on 23-24 November in Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (Pańska 3). Admission free after prior registration at www.designdebate.pl
