The Institute of Music and Dance (IMiT) and the British Council are organising dance laboratories addressed to disabled and non-disabled artists interested in exploring new movement technics and new ways of relating to one’s own body and to others.
The selected group will comprise up to 10 artists who will take part in the following activities:
- 3 online group meetings with a Scottish performer Claire Cunningham;
- 1 dance workshop lead by Paulina Wycichowska and Katarzyna Żeglicka. The aim of this laboratory will be to work on the movement practice. The workshop will take place in Warsaw over 3 days. The organisers will cover accommodation and one meal per day. Participants will be responsible for organising their own travel to Warsaw.
The programme will also comprise one-to-one mentoring sessions with Claire Cunningham, one of the UK’s most acclaimed and internationally renowned disabled artists. This opportunity will be available to several artists selected during the workshop.
A detailed schedule is available (in Polish) on the IMiT website.
Applicants are encouraged to take part in the full programme, however, it is also possible to sign up for selected meetings only.
The programme has been devised to provide participants with necessary time and space. Communications support will also be available, including translation into Polish Sign Language.
