The Karol Szymanowski Cracow Philharmonic, Cracow

The British Council warmly invites you to attend a concert featuring large-scale works for symphony orchestra at the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Cracow. We will have the opportunity to hear Benjamin Britten’s Simple Symphony, Op. 4 and Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations, Op. 36. The concert will be performed by The Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Michal Dworzynski  with special guest Maxim Rysanov on viola.

The concert will be preceded by a lecture from the “Something about the Concert before the Concert” lecture series. The lecture starts at 5 p.m. in the Golden Hall and will be delivered by Dr. Peter Lityński, a student of  the Academy of Music in Kraków who graduated from the Biology Faculty of Jagiellonian University. As well as serving as a Doctor of Biology at the University of Basel, he is an active animator of Polish culture in Switzerland.
