Escaping forward is an ambiguous procedure, involved both in what is behind and what has been just before. The third edition of the New Europe. Escaping forward International Festival will open with a concert by an Artist who has an extraordinary ability to locate the entanglements of reality through small stories and snapshots. However, these are not catastrophic complications – underneath you can always feel a sense of meaning: in life, beauty, love.

Kae Tempest manages to talk about the world in both an extremely precise and poetic way. They combine spontaneity and rap melody with silence and minimalist tenderness. Their latest album The Line is a Curve balances between a personal manifesto and collective responsibility, between searching for oneself and the unbearable burden of form. This is a story not about the need for continuity, but about cyclicality – of time, relations, love. About the fact that you cannot rely on once defined truths that appear objective. About how there is nothing wrong with giving in to feelings you used to run away from. This is a story whose beginning is the end – completely different from what one might think.

Detailed Information is available on the Nowy Teatr website.

British Council is partner of the concert.
