In late February and early March, for Chopin’s birth anniversary, previews of Phil Grabsky’s new movie In search of Chopin will be shown in five Polish cities. The author, a popular documentarist, will meet the audience in Warsaw, Wrocław, Częstochowa, Katowice and Cracow. Phil Grabsky spent four years travelling in pursuit of the truth concerning Chopin’s life. The tomb of the Polish composer in Paris remains a goal of pilgrimages and his music can be heard in concert halls around the world. Who was the man afraid of public performances, who, in spite of his poor health, composed tremendous and meaningful works?
