CINEMAFORUM presents the best short films from all over the world – directly from festivals in Cannes, Berlin or Toronto, and also invites the audience to participate in workshops, meetings and film debates.

The theme of this year’s edition is "SHORT DREAMS". The selected short films bring to mind dreams because they create suggestive, engaging and memorable worlds closed in a short form, as if in a nutshell.

This year 28 films from 20 countries will be presented at CINEMAFORUM, while majority of them will have their Polish premiere at the event. Screenings will be accompanied by a diverse educational programme. This will include workshops, masterclasses and the professional development programme called INTERFILMLAB (focus: film market, production, distribution, film promotion).

British Council, within the framework of the Creativity Talks series, is a partner of the following events

1) Lecture by Mia Bays: Micro-budget films financing and the specifics of their production

Mia Bays is a producer, whose films were Oscar-awarded and twice nominated for the BAFTA Award. She has over 25 years of experience in the film industry, she has worked on more than 50 film projects and her career began in the distribution sector.

In the years 2007-2014 she worked as a creative producer on the production of 8 micro-budget films within the acclaimed BBC Film London Microwave Scheme.

The open lecture will take place on 9 November 2017 at 19.00 at Kinoteka in Warsaw.

2) Workshops with Mia Bays

The workshops will take place 9 November 2017 between 13.00-16.00 in the Warsaw Film School. Prior registration is required. More details are available on the event website.
