British Council is a partner of 12th edition of the Guitar Guinness World Record, which will be a part of the Thanks Jimi Festival.
Before thousands of guitar players start beating the Guinness World Record on Thursday 1 May on the Market Square in Wroclaw, they will have the opportunity to participate in free workshops organised by the British Council in Tajne Komplety, ul. Przejście Garncarskie 2.
Come along to learn English and share your music passion. The 45 minute workshops will take place at 12.00 (for children up to 12 years old accompanied by their parents) and at 13:30 (for teenagers ages 13-18).
The engaging English-music workshops will be led by Ricky Krzyżewski – a British Council teacher with many years’ teaching experience. He is also a music fan and you might have seen him recently on television programmes including Mam Talent and Ugotowani!
The first 10 people who come to each of the workshops will be awarded with an attractive gift. Later there will be also opportunity to win free tickets for the evening rock concert on Malt Island.

English Rocks competition
Do you love music? Can you play any instruments? Are you looking for ideas about how you can develop your musical passions? Well, take part in the English Rocks! competition organized by the British Council. Take part for the chance to win a copy of the brilliant book: ‘The Guitar Player Book: 40 Years of Interviews, Gear, and Lessons from the World's Most Celebrated Guitar Magazine”.
All you have to do to feel like a rising rock star is respond in English or by emailing a photo in response to the question: ‘How does English help you on your rock-music life adventure?”.
The competition jury will select winners based on the creativity of your answer or photo.
