The British Council Poland has launched a new website, with improved functionality, design, and navigation. It also features an animated video about the wide scope of the Council’s work in three cultural relations areas: English, Arts, Education and Society.
The British Council creates international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them worldwide. It’s been present in Poland since 1938.
– We are celebrating our 75th anniversary this year, and wanted to highlight that we are using new technologies and digital tools inside the classroom and out of it – Andy Williams, Director of the British Council Poland said. – Our new website works on mobile devices, links to our social media channels, displays videos, and is accessible for people with visual impairments, because we care about diverse needs of our customers.
New features of the www.britishcouncil.pl website include a calendar of events that British Council organises or is a partner of: art exhibitions, film and music festivals, conferences and debates, drama and dance shows.
Main menu is divided into four sections: learn English, take an exam, study in the UK, and work in the arts, education and society. Teachers of English that want to improve their teaching skills will also find a site dedicated to them.
Another new section is “Why partner with us?” which describes partnership opportunities for educational organisations, business (CSR programmes), international organisations and charitable institutions.
Animated video that was launched together with the website explains what the British Council does in Poland. It was prepared with Leniva Studio. http://youtu.be/nBpXOZg1vtc
The new website is a gateway to all digital resources that British Council has to offer including social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and YouTube), e-mail newsletter, Poland Quality Teaching Blog and an online contact form, which enables customers to get in touch with the British Council.
